Responsibilities

Supervise and coordinate daily operations of cardiovascular surgical suites. Ensure implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care.

• Supervise cardiovascular surgical operating room (CVOR) operations and serve as an expert for the specialty. Ensure proper communications occur with the CVOR and other units.
• Identify and resolve issues affecting the delivery of patient care services for the CVOR. Oversee processes and procedures to guarantee efficient, effective and safe delivery of health services.
• Work collaboratively with physicians, leadership and staff to develop and implement streamlined operations where equipment, supplies and staff are utilized efficiently and resourcefully.
• Maintain clinical competency and may serve as a front-line staff member as needed.
• Conduct hiring, training, directing, development and evaluation of staff.
  
  

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• One or more of the following required:
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Certified Registered Nurse specializing in First Assistant obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date.
• Pediatric Advanced Life Support preferred. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
  

Education

• Required professional licensure/certification AND 1 year of cumulative job specific experience required.
  
  

Additional Preferences

• At least 2 years of circulating in the OR and have CVOR/vascular experience and knowledge.
